(The Hill) - A Louisiana woman sued the manufacturers of popular weight loss drugs Ozempic and Mounjaro on Wednesday, alleging that the drug makers failed to warn patients about the risk of severe gastrointestinal problems. The lawsuit claims that Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, the respective manufacturers of Ozempic and Mounjaro, “downplayed the severity of the gastrointestinal events” caused by their medications, such as gastroparesis, or stomach paralysis, and gastroenteritis, or stomach inflammation.Jaclyn Bjorklund, 44, took Ozempic for more than a year before switching to Mounjaro in July and suffered from “severe gastrointestinal events,” including severe vomiting, stomach pain, gastrointestinal burning, hospitalization, and the loss of teeth from excessive vomiting, according to the lawsuit. Doctors are prescribing Ozempic, Mounjaro ‘off label’ for weight loss: Is that allowed? While the labels for both medications note that they delay gastric emptying and can cause a variety...Second wildfire in Bastrop County grows to 37 acres, 80% contained

ST. LOUIS — Jorge Polanco is the first to admit that he’s not totally comfortable at third base. Not yet, at least.Polanco had only played nine major league games at the position before this year, and in preparation for the move, he played three games there with the Triple-A St. Paul Saints while on a rehab assignment. His relative inexperience at the position has revealed some growing pains as Polanco, who started Wednesday’s game at second based but later shifted to third, makes the move across the infield.“I would say I need more work,” Polanco said. “That’s what we’re doing. We’re getting there.”Polanco had a particularly tough day in the field on Tuesday. Among his difficulties, he made an errant throw that looked as if it would be a three-base error. In a stroke of good fortune for the new third baseman, Jordan Walker missed first on on his trip around the bases and was ruled out.As he makes his transition, Polanco has been putting in plenty of time pregame with assistant...5 questions raised by the Trump indictment

Former President Trump is expected to be arraigned for the third time Thursday.Trump faces four charges in Washington pertaining to his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. He denies wrongdoing. But even amid the detail in the 45-page indictment made public on Tuesday, there are a number of questions still unanswered. Here are some of the major ones. Can prosecutors prove Trump knew his claims were false? This question is the key to the case. The indictment alleges on its first page that Trump made claims about election fraud “that were false, and the Defendant knew that they were false.”Trump still contends the election was stolen, however. Although this is factually untrue, it sets a predicate for Trump’s broader argument that his efforts to overturn the result were a good-faith effort to right a wrong. His lawyers and media allies have been putting forward a similar idea since the indictment was released. “He’s being indicted for objecting to the way that the 2020...Keeler: CSU Rams coach Jay Norvell on Pac-12, realignment rumors: “We’re in an incredible situation.”
Published Thu, 21 Nov 2024 23:12:22 GMT
When you tease Jay Norvell about watching more Pac-12 game tape in the future, the CSU Rams football coach reminds you he’s been down that rabbit hole plenty already.“We play two Pac-12 teams (in September) that we match up with pretty (darn) good,” Norvell told me Wednesday, referring to a Sept. 2 visit from Washington State (still a member) and a Sept. 16 visit to CU (gone, baby, gone). “And we’ve had a lot of success in my six years as a head coach playing those types of teams.“I look at it as an opportunity. We get a chance to play two Pac-12 teams (early) — we recruit a lot of the same players as Wazzu, CU is going through a rebuild. I mean, I think it’s a great opportunity for CSU football.”There could be more. The Rammies-to-Pac-12 drumbeat isn’t as loud as CU-is-joining-the-Big-12 got to — and got to quickly. But there’s a little tap-tap-tapping there, consistently, if you put your ear to the ground, just below the din.Sources say there’s interest, understandably,...CU football notes: Buffs focused on 2023 slate, not future in Big 12

(University of Colorado Athletics)At some point down the road, the Colorado football team will focus on the competition in the Big 12 Conference. For now, however, the Buffaloes aren’t concerned about it.Last week, CU announced that it will leave the Pac-12 for the Big12 in the summer of 2024. To no surprise, CU defensive coordinator Charles Kelly said Wednesday that the Buffaloes are only looking at the 2023 slate.“Our focus right now has got to be playing our schedule,” Kelly said after the first day of preseason camp. “We’re in a conference right now and it’s got a lot of good players, a lot of good teams, a lot of good coaches. So we’ve got to make sure that we take care of this business that’s in front of us.“In the future, listen, the Big 12 has always...2 killed in fiery plane crash at Van Nuys Airport
