Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 14:56:24 GMT

ST. LOUIS - For the first time in a decade, Nolan Arenado will not win the National League's Gold Glove Award at third base. Arenado started off his MLB career with 10 consecutive NL Gold Glove honors from 2013 to 2022. The Gold Glove Awards recognize the top defensive players at each position in any given year. 10 years later: Joe Kelly’s epic NLCS standoff and the Cardinals’ latest NL pennant Rawlings announced its 2023 Gold Glove finalists at each position, in addition to super utility nominees, on Wednesday. Three finalists are eligible for any given position. Nolan Arenado was not included among the National League’s three finalists at third base this year, therefore he will come up empty-handed in the Gold Glove department for the first time in his 11-year career. The three finalists for third base are Pittsburgh's Ke'Bryan Hayes, Colorado's Ryan McMahon and Atlanta's Austin Riley. The effort also enhances the profile of the Democratic governor and multibillionaire equity investor and philanthropist. Pritzker has said he’s focused on serving as a Midwest governor, but speculation is rampant that he harbors presidential ambitions. Fourteen states now ban abortion and debate elsewhere rages since the U.S. Supreme Court's June 2022 decision to upend the 50-year-old Roe v. Wade opinion that legalized abortion."My commitment to protecting and expanding reproductive rights has been lifelong,” Pritzker, who has often recalled atte...

As soon as he was called up, almost two months into the season, Patrick Bailey showed why evaluators expect him to one day fill his mantle with Gold Glove trophies. He turned balls into strikes, nabbed about as many would-be base stealers as he had arm angles and even ended a game with his arm — not once, but twice. It didn’t take long for it to become apparent that Bailey, with only 28 games above A-ball under his belt, was already among the game’s elite defenders. On Wednesday, the 24-year-old rookie was announced as one of three finalists for the National League Gold Glove. His competition for the award, the Phillies’ J.T. Realmuto and Diamondbacks’ Gabriel Moreno, another rookie, are currently facing off in the NLCS.If Bailey wins — results announced Nov. 5 — it would be historic. No Giants rookie at any position has ever won the Gold Glove, and it has been awarded to only two NL rookie catchers, Johnny Bench in 1968 and, most recently, Charles Johnson in 1...
